How I went from a Christian fundamentalist kid to an agnostic trans activist

Jenna Daugherty is a passionate trans activist who looks to bridge the gap with anyone who wants to push humanity forward. Homeschooled by fundamentalist Christians, she left the religion behind but kept the proactive nature of her parents’ activism and applies it to her more secular advocacy. Her knowledge of the Christian culture is also why she tries to humanize her people to the Christian community with the hope of helping them understand the struggle of being trans.

While the survival of her people continues to be her number one focus, she realizes that long term safety can’t come without ensuring that the rights of all Americans are secured. She believes that aggressive but open-minded populism is what helps bridge the divide caused by our divisive partisan culture. She believes in the good of humanity and hopes to be one of the voices that can help Americans see how much more we have in common than what divides us.
