Robert Steinberg, FAIA (Fellow in the American Institute of Architects), is Chairperson of the global architecture firm, Steinberg Hart, with offices throughout the United States and China. Rob began his professional career as a filmmaker in New York and Hollywood and received his architectural training at UC Berkeley. He is a third- generation architect, who transformed his father’s residence-focused Silicon Valley practice, into an international award-winning collaboration that specializes in cultural, governmental,  educational and mixed-use projects. His documentary film work garnered international awards.  He is the author of a recently released book How Architecture Tells.

He has been awarded numerous national and international design awards and is frequently published in industry journals and publications. As a recognized expert, Rob is a frequent lecturer and presenter at many universities and design conferences around the world. He is active in a number of academic and real estate related organizations including his role as ULI Governor, Executive Board Member of SPUR – urban research and think-tank, and Policy Advisory Board Member at University of California Berkeley Fisher Center for Real Estate & Urban Economics.
